Cosmetic Orthodontics

Invisalign® uses clear aligners that are virtually invisible, smooth and comfortable, and removable for easy cleaning. No matter what stage of life you’re in, the Invisalign treatment will have a minimal interference with how you live.

1. Schedule Your Consultation
Give us a call or email us to schedule your personal consultation. As an official Invisalign Provider, we’re very familiar with the Invisalign® treatment. Knowing more about the entire process can help you become more confident in your decision and gives you a chance to ask any questions you have.

2. A Customized Treatment Plan
After x-rays, pictures, and impressions of your teeth we’ll create a customized treatment plan. Everyone is unique and so are their teeth! We’ll map out the movements of your teeth and the approximate length of treatment (treatment typically takes one year for adults).

3. Receive Your Aligners
Based on your treatment plan, your custom-made, clear aligners are created. The aligners are made of a smooth, comfortable, BPA-free plastic that won’t irritate your cheeks or gums. Just remove them when you eat, brush, and floss.

4. A New Aligner Every Two Weeks
Every two weeks, you will begin wearing a new set of aligners. Each time you switch to a new aligner, you’re advancing to the next stage of treatment. You will have occasional checkups with us to make sure your treatment plan is on track.

5. Reveal Your Smile
After your last set of aligners, you get to celebrate with a brand new smile! Typically a year after treatment begins, you will reach the end of your aligners. Check with us to see if you will need a retainer, and keep on smiling!

Crowns & Bridges

There are several reasons to recommend crowns. Usually crowns are used to protect a tooth after breaking, to restore a tooth after a root canal, to support a bridge, or when there is a large restoration that is failing. Crowns and bridges are made from glass ceramics (porcelain), gold, metals, or a combination of mentioned materials dependent on location and individual needs.

At Pleasant Street Dental we want your smile to not only look the best but to also provide predictable long-term function. This is why prior to preparing a crown we will discuss recommended materials and expected longevity. Over the past twenty years dental materials have improved significantly to where ceramics not only add strength and impressive stability to the damaged tooth, they are unnoticeable in the mouth!

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy is a process designed to save a problematic tooth by removing diseased nerve tissue from within the root. Root canal therapy is usually required when extensive decay, fracturing, gum disease, or trauma has involved the nerve potentially causing significant pain and/or abscess formation. By removing the diseased tissue and restoring the remaining healthy tooth structure to function, the tooth can be saved. Almost all teeth that receive root canal treatment require crowns because they no longer receive the vital nutrients and blood supply required, increasing their susceptibility to fracture. Newer techniques and materials have made root canal therapy more comfortable.

Extractions

Our goal is to always help you preserve your natural teeth by all means possible, but sometimes there are reasons a tooth simply can’t be saved. It is important to know what will replace a tooth prior to extraction because some treatment options rely on the necessity for increased bone or soft tissue. Today, the treatment options in dentistry are almost limitless for replacing missing teeth including removable partials, bridges, implants, or a combination of, such as implant supported partials. At Pleasant Street Dental we assure that you’ll understand all the alternatives to treatment so you may elect a desired course of treatment that fits your individual needs.

Partial Dentures / Full Dentures

Patients looking for a conservative method of replacing missing teeth or as an upgrade from their existing denture often consider full, partial, or implant-supported dentures. Both full and partial dentures help return function and appearance to a patient’s smile by providing support to the facial muscles, along with the ability to enjoy eating and speaking in comfort.

Implant-supported partials and dentures involve surgically placed implants that have specialized attachments securing the dentures in position. An implant-supported denture provides significant improvement in quality of life for our patients, eliminating shifting of the denture, or embarrassing moments when the denture accidentally comes out. Most patients with implant-supported partials or dentures notice improvements in taste and texture while eating and are amazed at how natural the dentures look and feel.

Having missing teeth can negatively impact the health of our patients by limiting the nutritional value they are capable of receiving in each meal. With today’s options in dentistry, don’t let the lack of teeth affect your self-esteem or employment opportunities.

Dental Implants

Why not provide a one-tooth problem with a one-tooth solution. Implant dentistry has allowed just that: the ability to protect neighboring teeth from unnecessary crown preparations.   There are many more options and solutions for replacing lost or damaged teeth. Among the most popular permanent solutions for tooth replacement are dental implants. Dental implants are made using surgical grade titanium that is compatible with bone, actually fusing with bone to form a permanent root.  Once this occurs a custom made tooth (or teeth) is made to match your surrounding teeth and then attached to the new root.

If you find that your current dental conditions are preventing you from enjoying the foods you once used to, creating difficulties pronouncing certain words, or even inhibiting you from playing a musical instrument with the ability you once did, then implant dentistry is what your searching for. At Pleasant Street Dental you have the option of restoring lost teeth with dental implants, in our opinion it has become one of the most predictable and conservative investments to restore your ability to smile and chew.

Veneers

For patients who desire to improve the shape, size, discoloration, and even the position of the teeth veneers are an excellent yet conservative method to do so. Veneers are thin shells of ceramic porcelain that are bonded to the surface of teeth to cover blemishes, look natural in appearance, and are highly durable. If you find yourself trying to prevent or cover your smile, veneers may be the solution giving you back the confident, radiant smile that you deserve.

Teeth Whitening

Our teeth whitening treatments, utilizing SDI Poladay or Polanight Whitening Systems, are among the easiest ways to restore the natural vitality and shine to your beautiful smile. Custom fitted trays will be made for you to whiten your smile at home during the day or while you sleep, dependent on your preference. Pola whitens the discolorations in the enamel of your teeth usually incurred with age, trauma, or dietary habits. The results are effective, safe, and sure to achieve the ideal whiteness you desire at your convenience. There’s no reason to limit your smile out of embarrassment – boost your self-image and confidence with a whiter smile.

If you have an emergency, we will do everything we can to make sure you are treated as quickly as possible.
